After dedicating 25 years to serving as Chief Financial Officer for a diverse group of service and manufacturing organizations, Craig founded Satulah Fiduciary, LLC to positively impact ESOP companies and the ESOP community as a whole. Craig spent ten years serving as CFO of a $240 million paper manufacturer that was 35% employee-owned, leading the internal administrative, educational, and compliance efforts critical to the success of the organization’s ESOP. Serving in that role was one of the highlights of Craig’s career and ultimately led him to found Satulah Fiduciary, LLC.
The foundation of Craig’s career has been in Accounting and Finance. Graduating from the University of Virginia with a BS in Commerce, Craig’s career began as an auditor with Ernst & Young, gaining significant exposure to complex financial transactions during the audit of Reynolds Metals Inc. That experience led Craig to Wake Forest University's MBA program, where his studies focused on Corporate Finance.
As Assistant Treasurer with Food Lion, Craig played a significant role in complicated financings that raised over $650 million of capital. This work gave Craig significant C-Suite and Board exposure in a large, public company, which later allowed him to find success as a strategic CFO in four privately held companies. During this phase of his career, Craig led a $120 million syndicated bank financing and a $140 million capital raise in the private debt markets – transactional experience that benefits him in many ways as an Independent ESOP Trustee.
Craig is a proven strategic leader with real-world operational, administrative, and compliance expertise. While the primary role of any ESOP Trustee is the ensure that your ESOP is being administered correctly and in the interest of your employee owners, Craig’s managerial experience gives him the ability to understand the strategic and financial dynamics of your organization and align the goals of your organization with the long-term prosperity of your Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
